1. Before you begin

A few important steps to complete before you start the installation process:

  • Make sure your website is up to date and running the latest version of WordPress.
  • If you are currently using the “Classic Editor” plugin, you need to uninstall it prior to installing your theme, or you can enable the Gutenberg/block editor in the plugin settings. Kadence is built for the Block Editor and does not support the Classic Editor.
  • Websites with existing content only: Installing the theme will import the demo blog posts, so you would want to pause any RSS-to-email feeds if you have this set up before installing your new theme. Once the theme is installed, you can delete the demo posts and restart your RSS feed again.

2. Installing Kadence framework

On your WordPress Dashboard, go to APPEARANCE > THEMES. Click ADD NEW. Enter “Kadence” in the “Search themes” box. A few results will appear. Click the install button on the Kadence theme as shown below.

Once it’s done installing, click the ACTIVATE button to activate it.

3. Installing child theme

Go to APPEARANCE > THEMES.
Click ADD NEW button, and then click UPLOAD THEME button.
Choose blush-kadence.zip from your computer, and click INSTALL NOW.
Click ACTIVATE to activate the theme.

4. Installing necessary plugins

You should see a prompt about required plugin. Click the “begin installing plugins” link.

If you don’t see it, simply go to APPEARANCE > INSTALL PLUGINS to take you there.

Check all plugins. Click “Bulk Actions“, select INSTALL from the drop down menu and click APPLY.

Click “Return to Required Plugins Installer“. Check all plugins. Click “Bulk Actions“, select ACTIVATE and click APPLY.

5. Importing demo content

Go back to the PLUGINS page. Under Kadence AI Starter Templates, click “View Template Library”.

Under Choose Experience, choose SHESHOPPES.

Click the thumbnail preview of your Blush homepage. Finally, click the “Finish and Launch” button. The import process may take up to 5 minutes to complete.

6. Finish

Now you can start customizing and personalizing your website.
