How to manage social media icons in the header and footer
How to add social media widget to the header
On your WordPress dashboard, navigate to Appearance > Customize > Header.
If you’re looking to manage the one on your footer area then navigate to Appearance > Customize > Footer.
Kadence provides a visual builder for the header called “Header Builder”, which you can find at the bottom right of your screen. You can add new elements or remove any existing ones from each placeholder. To add new element, put your mouse over an empty widget area or placeholder, and locate a + (plus) button.

Clicking on this button will show you a list of elements you can add to the header, select Social from the list to add social icons.
(Note: I’m using Kadence Pro, so I may have more elements in my list below). You can drag and drop the Social element to the desired position in the header layout. Kadence’s visual builder makes this easy to do.

How to add more icons or delete existing icons
Click the gear icon on the Social element, and you’ll see a new section open up on your left screen to configure the social icons.

To add an icon, click the Add Social button.

If you click on the arrow icon on each social tab, it will open its settings where you can choose the icon type or remove an icon you don’t need.

Kadence has built-in options for social icons, so you don’t need to use the SVG or Image tab unless you want to use a different image or if the social media platform you are using isn’t listed in Kadence.
How to set links on the icons
Navigate to Appearance > Customize > Header > Social. Click the Set Social Links tab.

Add URLs for Facebook, Twitter, and any other social platforms you use. You will only need to do this once for both socials in the header and footer. Any other locations will need their own separate settings, though.
