This tutorial is made for those using Scrumptious Child Theme. If you’re using Scrumptious Block Collection, please refer to this tutorial instead.

WP Recipe Maker (WPRM) is a versatile plugin that allows you to add recipes to your posts or pages with ease. In this tutorial, we will go step-by-step on how to set up the WPRM plugin, choose a template from the Settings area, and set up star ratings.

1. Install and activate WPRM plugin

Some of our themes will suggest that you install and activate the WPRM plugin during the theme installation process. If you haven’t done this yet, you can do it manually by going to to Plugins >> Add New. Search for “WP Recipe Maker”. Click Install Now, and then click Activate.

2. Choose a recipe card template

Once the plugin is activated, go to WP Recipe Maker >> Settings from your WordPress dashboard to access the settings area.

On the left side of your screen, under the navigation section, select Recipe Template.
Then, for the Food Recipe Template, select the name of the theme you are using. In this instance, I opted for Scrumptious as it is the theme I’m using for this demo.

Click Save Changes to save your settings.

3. Choose recipe snippet template

Recipe snippets are parts of a recipe or some quick links at the very top of the post. For example, buttons to “jump to recipe” or “jump to video”. This allows you to give your visitors quick links to get where they want to be without having to scroll through the entire page.

On the left side of your screen, under the navigation section, select Recipe Snippets.
Then, where it says “Automatically add snippets”, opt for yes. This will automatically add “jump to recipe” or “jump to video” button if your post has a recipe card or a video in it.

For the Food Recipe Snippet Template, select the name of the theme you are using. mine is Snippet Scrumptious.

Click Save Changes to save your settings.

4. Enable or disable star rating in the comment

Still in the Settings area, navigate to Star Ratings section.
Enable user ratings by clicking on the checkbox next to “Comment Ratings: Allow visitors to vote on your recipes when commenting”. This will allow your readers to rate your recipes.

Save your changes.

And that’s it! You have successfully set up the WPRM plugin, chosen templates, and set up star ratings. Now your audience can interact with your recipes and rate them.

Please note: This tutorial is a basic setup guide, for more advanced features and settings, please refer to the official WPRM documentation.
