Vignette: How to Customize the Featured Section on Your Homepage
The free version of Kadence doesn’t have the option for you to manually select individual posts in a Query Loop. However, there’s a simple workaround that gives you full control over which posts show up.
1. Tag Your Posts
Go to the blog posts you’d like to feature and assign them a tag.
- Open the post in the editor.
- In the right sidebar, find the Tags section.
- Add a tag like
featured, then update the post.
Repeat this for every post you want to include in the Featured section.
2. Edit the Featured Section on Your Homepage
- Edit your homepage.
- Click anywhere on the first post in the left column of the Featured section.
This will highlight the entire Query Loop block and show its settings in the right sidebar. - In the right panel, scroll down to “Filter by Tag.”
- Click it and type/select
featured. - Repeat the same steps for the right column as it uses a separate Query Loop block.
That’s it! This section will now only show the posts you’ve tagged with featured.
