Wanderlust: How to set up your dynamic category page
Import PRO Elements
Go to Tools > Import.
Under WordPress, click Install Now.
Then, click Run Importer.

Upload wanderlust-pro-elements.xml from your computer.
Under Assign Authors > Import Author, choose “assign posts to an existing user” and select your username.
Under Import Attachments, you can check the option to download and import file attachments.
Submit.
The Elements
Navigate to Appearance > Kadence > Elements.
This is where you can manage all your dynamic elements for specific areas of your website. You should see the elements you imported earlier. There are three of them:
- Destination Sub Category | Header
- Destination | Specific Category | Header
- Destination Sub Category | Footer
Please refer to the following image to see which portion of the Archive/Category page each element is displayed in:

Element 1
Destination Sub Category | Header
Click “Edit” to go to the element’s page editor.
In this element, all sections and section items are dynamic, meaning they will display content based on the category or archive being viewed. You don’t need to edit these items unless you want to remove them or replace them with different information.
The featured image will be pulled from the latest post in the respective category.
The page description will be drawn from the category description.
Note: to add or edit a description, go to Posts > Categories and click “Edit” on the category you want to modify.

Now, for the most important part, choose where you want this element to be displayed. In the top right corner of your screen, click the icon that looks like a browser and pencil, called “Element Settings.”

Click the “Display Settings” tab.
The Wanderlust demo shows this element on the Location Taxonomy, so under “Show On” it should say “Location Archives.” You can keep it as is if you want this element to appear on your Location taxonomy. However, if you want this element to display on category pages, you will need to change it to “Category Archives.” If you want this element to display on all archives, regardless of the categories, you can choose “All Archives” instead.
You can choose whether you want this element to show on all categories or just specific ones. You can select more than one category archives.

Save your changes.
Element 2
Destination | Specific Category | Header

In the Wanderlust demo, this element is only shown on the United States Location Taxonomy.
To assign yours, click “Element Settings.”
If you want it to appear on Category pages instead of the Location Taxonomy, choose “Category Archives” under “Show On.” Then, under “Select Category Archive By,” choose “Individually.” Finally, select the categories you want it to be displayed on.

You can use the “Priority” option to sort the order of elements when you have more than one element on a page. For instance, this element has a priority of 15, while Element 1 has a priority of 10, so this element will appear underneath Element 1.
Save your changes.
Element 3
Destination | Sub Category | Footer
In Wanderlust demo, this element is shown on the footer of the Location Taxonomy.
To assign yours, click “Element Settings.”
Again, if you want it to appear on Category pages instead of the Location Taxonomy, choose “Category Archives” under “Show On.” Then, under “Select Category Archive By,” choose “Individually.” Finally, select the categories you want it to be displayed on.

Save your changes.
Final Notes
All of these elements are also available on your Design Library under the category “PRO”.
You can create as many elements as you wish, and assign them to the page of your choice.
