Wanderlust: Setting Up Featured Articles Using Conditional Display

Under the PRO version of the Wanderlust’s category page, we have a Row Layout block called “Featured Articles”. If you have Kadence Pro, you can configure this specific block to display articles based on the active category or taxonomy.

Navigate to Appearance > Kadence > Elements

Click edit on Destination | Specific Category | Header

Select Element Settings icon

Find the Display Settings tab.
Under the Show On options, choose Category Archives.
Under Category Archive By, choose All.

Select the Document Overview icon, and click on Featured Articles, as indicated on the image below.

It should open the Row Layout’s block settings. If it doesn’t, click on the Settings icon below.

Go to the Advanced tab, scroll down to Conditional Display tab.
Opt yes for “Enable Conditional Display”.
Under the Conditional option, choose Archive Title.
Under Compare Type, choose =
Under Compare Value, type the name of the category or taxonomy where you want this Row Layout or Section to appear.

What the above setting does is it makes this specific Row Layout to appear only on the United States category. To make another Row Layout with its own featured articles to appear on a different category, you can duplicate this Row Layout.

To duplicate a Row Layout, click the Document Overview icon, select Featured Articles.
Click the three dots, and select Duplicate.

Continue by replacing the existing Compare Value (United States) with the name of the new category, and save.
Repeat this process for each unique Featured Articles displays that you need.
